Confirming the drain layout before building work
A planned extension required the existing drainage to be accurately located and exposed. Understanding the pipe route first reduced uncertainty and allowed excavation to be targeted rather than carried out blindly.
A CCTV survey was used to investigate the drainage route before the ground was opened.
Our approach
Survey first, then careful excavation
The existing pipework was traced and then uncovered so its position and arrangement could be confirmed. This enabled the next stage of the building project to be planned around the actual drainage system.
This project demonstrates the value of combining CCTV investigation with drainage excavation: it helps limit unnecessary digging and gives builders and property owners clearer information before work proceeds.
